Admission requirements & mandatory courses

To ensure a high professional standard and patient safety, all students must meet certain academic and practical requirements before and during the acupuncture programme.

Below you will find an overview of the required qualifications and mandatory courses.

Basic medical knowledge

To enroll in the acupuncture programme, you must have completed:

  • 200 hours of Anatomy & Physiology
  • 100 hours of Pathology (Disease theory)

These subjects provide the essential understanding of the human body and are a fundamental part of working safely and professionally with patients.

If you already have a healthcare education or a RAB-approved qualification, you may receive credit for these subjects upon submission of relevant documentation.

Deadline:
Exams in these subjects must be passed before the start of the programme or no later than one year after enrollment.

Classes are available in a variety of places, but must live up to basic recommendations for complementary therapies like Gill Tree Training courses

Psychology & client communication

To complete the acupuncture education, you must complete:

  • 50 hours of Psychology & client communication

This course strengthens your ability to:

  • Understand patients on a deeper level
  • Communicate professionally and empathetically
  • Handle real-life clinical situations

If you already have a healthcare or RAB-approved background, you may receive credit for this course.

First aid training

It is a legal requirement to complete:

  • Minimum 12 hours of first aid training

This ensures that you are prepared to act responsibly and safely in any clinical situation.

  • Managing lung-related injuries (e.g. pneumothorax)

Course format:
